Default Airesearch

1: I am a n00b to FI, but am attempting to learn...

So, i picked up a Airesearch turbo a million years ago, and now want to put it to use.
Problem is, i cant find any A/R numbers stamped on the case anywhere, and cant seem to wrap my head arount the math of figuring it out, and also figuring out if it will be sutible for my inteded appication.

That being, my 90' Ford Ranger with the 2.9 V6.

Could anyone help?

After considerable cleanup (turbo has had a long life), found a number 0.60 inside the charge end of the cold side.
still tackling hot side, but not optimistic.

what kind of lateral shaft play can be considered "Normal"?
how about "too much"?

Zero end play, but some lateral (can come up with an actual number)
Note, turbo has had no oil for at least 5 years, but obviously not used during this time.

Take a pic of the engine...Is this the same one found in the Bronco 2's?? If so, you should definitely boost it.

looks like a t04, that should be a decent turbo for your ranger, but you should send it to be rebuilt and get the specs on it.

depending on trim and ----.

dont send it to blaast unless you live in canada.

someone more knowledgable than me will help you out.

but then again you ------- fail as a noob for not having an intro post with plenty of ****, your car and why we should help you when you need to search around and not ask questions.

this is the forced induction information section.

not forced fed your dumb *** with information section.

welcome to the site.

Yes, its the 177ci that was put in damn near every Ranger and B2 87-91...
Everyone else is hung up on dropping 302's in for power, i want to be different.

Ill take it in and get some specs, want to have it balanced anyways...
I was asking about play due to the fact that a google search revealed damn near every number under the sun.
thats why i said i looked, but did not find....

I would have posted pictures of my "car", but i figured that due to the number of rangers produced, nearly everyone who hasnt been living in a bomb shelter since 1980 has seen at least 3.
Lack of **** = work computer = dont need to lose job.

but thanks for the warm welcome.
