i posted here a while ago about how im heaving HUGE issues with my car's timing belt doing crazy things.

i put the head on, car ran like ----. got pissed off and i threw my stock gsr cams back in. car ran awesome!

a week later, i let my friend borrow my car to go to work. next day he calls and says the car wont crank and that the cam gears are all misaligned. ----!!!!



we'll go late today to tow the pile of ---- back home to see wtf happened this time. any ideas ?

 

Yeah never let a friend drive your car.


Did you ever check to see if your gears turned true like suggested in your other thread?

 

yeah, everything was done as outlined in the helms. it was all nice and tight, turned with everything lining up as it should. it ran great for a week.

 

Maybe one of the keys broke? I'm not sure if you're using them or if the cam gears have them built in but I'd check.

 

i've been working most of the day and dont have a way of getting it towed home till later tonight. ill hopefully see wtf happened this time tomorrow.

 

Whats the setup and what was it doing.

wrong belt? i had a similar issue w/ my old D build.

 

well, my friend is a total idiot!! belt is still on nice and tight.



car just wont start. no clue what the problem is, i have been really busy this whole week. ill try and work on it this weekend.

 

My belt was tight too, but it was still slipping, and timing was being thrown off. Check ure cam gears and ure key way in the crank!
