i found this guy on craigslist who has a 92 turbo supra 5spd targa and the thing is perfect, i got pic taken today. no motor, no tranny not a big deal. he wants $800/offer, the car is mint condidtion but he has no title. he claims he bought the car, motor blew up, stops paying the dealer, they dont reposses it but say he can keep it but wont give him the title.

is there any way around this? oh and im in WI and hes in IL

 

$800 for a motorless, hard to find motor/tranny sort of deal for a car, isn't worth it.

 

not that hard, there is actually a few within 30 min of my house

 

get a carfax on the car for all you know its stolen

 

Sounds like someone yanked the engine from a stolen car and is is trying to ditch the rest on you.

 

3500 cash and you can come get mine. and it runs/drives

 

---- carfax, just copy the VIN down and call the sheriffs' dept and they will run the thing for you. Free of charge

 

Ask your DMV about getting a title-bond. If it doesn't have a lien (and it sounds like it does...) you could get one...

 

In order to get a title more than likely you would have to pay off the money that the alleged owner owes the the dealership that he bought it from. IMO not worth it.

 

Find a junked one in a junk yard with a title?
