caliper/rotor problem :(

Default caliper/rotor problem :(

ok so i went to parts galore and got 2 front calipers off of an integra.. one from a 91 and one from a 90.. they both are exactly the same.. the ------- calipers should have fit on my integra rotors but they ------- didnt.. even with both brake pads out the ------- caliper wont fit through the ------- rotor

Maybe you got one with ABS?

I don't see how that is possible unless the piston is not compressed all the way.

thats for sure...

hit my knuckles atleast 5x today... i need my ------- gloves..

idk what knuckles they are but the ------- rotors off of an 91 integra fit perfect..

so i went to parts galore and got the calipers off of an integra and they didnt ------- fit...

Use a ---- hair sized couple of washers on the bracket.

Well assuming you have the correct calipers... The caliper should "float" and "follow" the rotor at all times. As the pads wear this allows the caliper to stay centered over the rotor and helps distribute load/wear pads evenly. There is a press fit pin/slide on one end of the caliper, and a bolt/slide on the other end that both allow it to float. You should be able to move the caliper in and out by hand to get it over the rotor

Just get the brake caliper tool. Or rig up a caulking gun like someone did on here. I think it was Weir.

where exactly is it hitting? you do know that the caliper is "floating " on the brackets right?

I`ve done brakes on an MR2 with supra calipers from junkyard and experienced the same problem, the pins (where the caliper bolts thread into) was stuck half way out because of caked up grease and dirt. Which does not allow the caliper to ------ all the way out.
