So I've been researching turbo's becuase i would like to eventually have a turbo z6 that comes close to maybe 300 hp?
I don't know. I just know i would like to run atleast 14's

Anyway, There is information everywhere on how turbo's work, how the set up works, and where to get parts. But my problem is piecing it together. The only thing i could do right now, is just grab the parts, put it together, and hope for the best. But I would rather not just buy a bunch of stuff to not reach my goal.
so on the to main question, how does one figure out what turbo parts EXACTLY he needs to achieve his goal? thanks

 

Main things to think about is:how much power you want to make? what size turbo,what size injectors, and how good a tune you can offer.
Put your flame suit on.

Don't spend any money until you've logged in 50 hours (obviously not all at once) of solid research and searching. You'll be a lot happier if you buy once and buy right. 300hp is really stretching it for a 14b if you want it to last, so a good t3/t4 or even 16g should suit your needs and allow you room to grow. Don't 1/2 *** on your engine management or fuel system at the bare minimum. If you can afford it, don't half *** anything. While used or knock-off parts are cheap; they usually are about dead, so buy new if possible. Don't buy any major components off Ebay if you want them to fit well, be reliable, and make optimum power. Don't try and rush a turbo set-up because it'll come back to haunt you. Take the time to gather everything up and then install. Good luck.

Step 2- Search

Step 3- Read

Step 4- Learn

Step 5- Buy and build

 

if you read my post, you would've known i have been researching but have been having trouble finding the answer to my question. Rather, i find a billion articles simply on HOW THEY WORK rather than HOW TO REACH YOUR GOAL.

 

meh, to be honest, maximum boost could have been a little better. I guess its a good intro book though. I was really looking for a little more out of it

 

maxboost book over played just read all the ---- you see on here in every forum and you will be good
