Default ECU Control for D16Z6 (parts list)

I'm about to order the "Max233 (AD233AK)" kit from the CompSys website. Could someone verify that the "Max233 (AD233AK)" is the right part to buy if I want to use ECU Control on my D16Z6...

The link to the part description on their website is:
http://www.compsys1.com/workbench/On...3_adapter.html

Do I need a special ROM on my chip in order for it to output the data onto the serial port (Max233 ).

TIA

P.

Could someone please let me know if that's the correct part... Do I need anything else in order to hook up the Max233 to my ECU board? (other than the ECUcontrol-enabled ROM".

Thanks for the reply.

Is it just "plug-and-play" with this Max233 and the P28 ECU?

No, you have to assemble the Max233. Then solder it to your CN terminals of the ECU.

Then, yuo need to "chip" your P28 for use with external EEPROM, and run a ROM with serial output. (An ECU Contorl ROM).

What's the BEST Write Up on how to chip the P28 CPU? (one with step-by-step instructions, not just a vague one... like on the ECUcontrol website)

Where's the best (fastest) place to buy a "chip" and socket in order to mod the P28? (in Canada <--- Mike ?)

Does anyone have a .bin file for a "boosted" D16Z6/P28 with 450cc's and 10 PSI (IHI RHB5), THAT ALSO SUPORTS THE ECUcontrol ROM WITH SERIAL OUTPUT?

TIA.

I've always ordered my stuff from www.moates.net
but you can also get stuff from www.digikey.com. I don't know about shipping to Canada.

Can't help you on the last question. Good luck, -Z

This might be of some value to you:

Using a (cheap) Nokia Cell phone cable for datalogging

I got one off ebay for about $10 shipped.
