There are some sharp points on my Vitara Pistons where the valve reliefs are. They are on the outer edge of the piston. Would grinding these smooth be an issue? I would like to reduce sharp edges to prevent detonation. Being on the outer edge of the piston would this cause any issues?

I notices those edges too, I just left them alone like many others. I have seen a few threads where ppl filed them down but I would be carefull.

 

Thanks for the reply. I'm just trying to get everything perfect so I don't have to pull the motor apart in the future. Has anyone on here filed them down?
How much hp are you pushing ifly?
