I was told the turbo i was buying is a Garrett T3/T04E 57trim. My friend has a Garrett T3/T04E .60trim on his boosted GSR so i had an idea of what i was getting.

Well i got it today and it looks smaller than my friend's turbo and doesn't say Garrett on it, it says Precision A/R.48 on the hot side and A/R.70 on the cold side.

The cold side looks smaller than my friend's. Is this just a T3...or is it actually a T3/T4?



Any info you guys have on this turbo would be greatly appreciated. My goal is 300whp on my 95 GSR (B18C1)... will it be able to achieve my HP goal?

measure Inducer/exducer of the compressor and exhaust wheels.

also your hp goals really depend on the ------- motor not your turbo..
i suggest you research a lot more before you turbo charge your car.

I know the power output also depends on the motor that's why I said what motor i'm going to use this turbo on.

And yeah, I've been researching turbos as much as possible for the last few weeks. Not that long ago I didn't even know how turbo systems worked...I've come a long way, but i know there is much more to learn.

 

Precision usually has a few numbers carved into the compressor outlet. See if you can try to read them.

 

It looks like a 57trim t3/t04e, but that seems to be a t04b cover. If its a Precision turbine housing, chances are its a stg3 exhaust wheel. As long as the bearings aren't shot, looks like a turbo good for 400+ whp.

 

Read the number etched on the compressor outlet. That will give you all the info, unless the compressor cover was replaced. I can see the numbers, but cant really make them out.
