For my materials class here at school we have a project to analyize a broken part and determine the stress/strain, etc, etc on it at failure. I figured I'd ask around and see what people have. Not looking for anything too much bigger than a crank or so, actually a snapped crank would be nice to have, but show me what you got- Bonus for parts from old/exotic cars! Of course I'll pay for shipping when the time comes.

i have a volvo turbo the exhast impeller snapped right off the shaft, looks pretty fucken kool.

 

Thats is perfect for the project right there. I did a broken aluminum connecting rod from a dragster (Thanks to stevemode) but it ended up being far more complicated than it needed to be. Most people did really simple things.

I have the pressure plate from my Countach around here somewhere. if I can find it, you can have it. It has several stress cracks around the bolt holes and a chunk missing from the hub.

i have a sheared cv shaft and bent rods/fucked up forged piston


one rod is bent pretty good with heat distortion and color and the piston has a lot of detonation on it too.


i dont have the actual shaft anymore i just have the spline from the tranny side
