So Stephen Marbury of the Knicks sister's car came in due to engine failure and come to find out the engine is completely siezed and the tech takes out the oil filter and there is coolant on the filterwell the sister decided to fill the tank up since the coolant lite came on so she took off the OIL CAP and filled it with coolant to fix it but got herself a $80,000 to $90,000 estimate for a engine and the car cost $120,000....WOW

That is alot for that engine, I read in a magazine (car and driver type) that mentioned the cost of a high end Mercedes engine. I forget which model though. For that much money a nice motor swap would be in order. You could buy a used turboshaft engine for that amount of money!

YES the engine cost that much my co-worker did the estimate and the car sat next to my work station i think it is...let me get the estimate
556.50 for the starter
80,803.50 for the engine
500 for misc. parts
and between 15 to 20 hours of labor at 113.95 per hour
