Default Restoring deleted photos

So heres the deal, I deleted a bunch of photos after i "burnt" them to a CD, turns out the CD didn't actually get anything burnt onto it (Don't ask me how or why I have no idea) and now I have no pictures on the computer or the CD. I have tried doing a Restore from a previus date but that didn't do ----. I am using Windows XP, its a Dell (piece o' ----) computer. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated and for the one that actually gives me the onfo I need to get those pictures back I may have a some turbo stuff lying around I can ship to you free of charge.
If you need more info on the system i am using let me know i honestly don't know much about computers, I can get to my email, homemadeturbo.com and a few Microsoft office things, and thats about it.
Thanks in advance.

go to download.com. search for lost pictures (or recovery software, or picture recovery, etc...), download a couple programs and see if they can recover them.

Thank you both for your input, I actually used a program called Recover photos or something like that. Since Darkelvis got here first and gave me some direction first, do you need anything for your turbo set up, i don't have much but maybe something that you might need.
