I been having a turbo on the shelf for some time now while i collect parts to install it. It has never been used, brand new. I had kept some oil in it. but the other day i was moving things around and decided to top off the center and spin it by hand to make sure everything is lubricated since im coming closer to installing it.

I had let it sit for about 10 min with the oil in it. When i looked at it oil had passed through onto the exhaust side of the turbo but not in the compression side.

Is this because the turbo has not been broken in yet? Any ideas? Thanks!

looks like a nice build

i let my turbo sit for a year before i used it, and i didnt fill it with oil or rotate it... works fine. but i would say that is just hasnt been broken in yet if its bran new.
