Its not what you think. I just found out that my mom may be bi polar. She spends all this ------- money, sleeps weird hours, or not enough and she called the cops on me today cause she thinks im on drugs ( i smoke pot here and there but nothing more ). Well they came talked to me and my dad and basically agreed that she isnt well. Bipolar is what seems to be whats doing this but we dont know for sure. I googled that ---- and all signs point to it. It sucks cause i never that this would happen to me but i guess. I hate this and i have to do what i can to help her and my dad. My dad is also having a difficult time with this but after the cops came i think we all have to do what we can to help her through this. Anyone else have dealt with this in their immidiate fam?

 

Yes, my brother who just died was bi-polar.

 

WOW, my bad. Still how did you guys deal with it? How bad was it when he wasnt on his meds?

 

Hasn't happened recently. Well...not since we moved out of the trailer park.

 

He would go through periods were he wouldnt sleep, like a manic state, he would have great ideas and be on top of the world.
Then he would get really depressed and sleep a lot or go off for some time ranting.
Meds would sedate him so he would not take them consistantly or as prescribed.
Patience is needed when a family member is diagnosed with any mental health issue.
Having people to relate with is very helpful also.
Has she seen a professional yet?

 

Seroquel might settle her down.

I don't know what they prescribe for bi-polar folks, but seroquel is prescribed for people with manic episodes and acts like a mood stabilizer

 

So does weed.

I have an uncle that is bi-polar and he is on meds but still has to pretty bad highs and lows. My cousin (his daughter) has the same thing but she isn't quite as bad. She's on meds and is pretty stable.

 

Tell her to get zoloft, or call la migra.

 

Since when does la migra carry meds? We are all legal mamon! come mierda :P
