Default s13 240sx automaticss are those transmissions any good?

I want a new project. It has to be a turbo,A/C,convertible, RWD, at least GSR braking capability, and automatic... my wife wants to drive it. I'm thinking about a 240sx convertible. But I dont know crap about their slushomatics. What kind of power can those trannies handle? I want at least a 14-15 second car thats can be a DD. I dont want to swap unless very large increase of power and its a cheap swap.

Nick

A buddy of mine did the same thing, wife wanted to drive the car. He has a s13 auto, single cam motor, turbo'd 6lbs on a grand national t3. Trannys holding up fine, no problems and its been DD for over a year.

the tranny in the 240 will hold fine for about 300-350WHP, i wouldn't trust it much more than that, and even 300 would be taking a chance

Put a nice big aftermarket cooler in to keep the tranny temps down. You could always do a a GM auto tranny conversion im sure someone makes a adapter.
