He got pissed because UFC couldn't get Fedor, and Randy decided that he has nothing else to prove other than to end his career with a fight against Fedor. Fedor signed with a Russian based org. M1.. and now Randy announced his retirement like 2 hours ago. So I guess the title is up for grabs.. prob be Vera and Silvia for the title next weekend.

 

I ------- hope not. Nogueira is next in line. I predict Vera v Nog for the title, with Nog getting it. This sucks though. No Fedor, no Barnett, no Randy. The HW division was barren before... now all it has is Nog and Herring, and a bunch of mooks like Sylvia and Vera and Cheick.

 

I guess Mark Cuban bought M1.. so I bet money that there will be an M1 fight card for like Febuary Randy vs. Fedor "The Cold War"

 

If Zuffa releases Couture form his contract. Technically as is stands he can't fight outside of the UFC for 2 fights or 2009, which is unfortunate. He might not fight again, but Randy is full of surprises.

 

According to Sherdog he said that he retired from UFC.. including commentating, fighting, promoting.. all of it.

 

But he's still bound by a contract. The guy that gets the worst end of the deal is Nog. Now he's locked into a dead division with UFC, and he will never be considered #1 without fighting Couture.

Herring nearly killed Nog, a top HW. Nog eeked out the decision via lay'n'pray. I think Randy will be back, as soon as all of this ---- boils down. Fedor will eventually fight in the UFC, even if it isn't on Zuffa's terms (meaning he cans till compete in Sambo). They may have Fedor as a fight by fight guy if he does Sambo, unless he gets the title.
