you need a rebuild, an oil restrictor would have been good before your seals blew and started leaking.

My car sat for like 4 months and I'd intermittently start it and it would smoke and there was oil coming out between the exhaust housing and CHRA. I figured I'd try a restrictor because I'd be using one if I had to rebuild the turbo anyway. I put it on and drove the car for about 5 minutes and the leaking/smoking stopped. It hasn't leaked or smoked one bit in 6 months. I just checked my intercooler piping the other day and it was completely dry.

Get a restrictor, see if it helps, if it doesn't you'll have it for your next turbo or rebuild.

before spending the $200+ to do a rebuild, spend $5 on a restrictor and see if it works.

if it doesnt, then you have a restrictor ready for when you get it back from the rebuilder
