chipped ECU for 89 volvo 760 turbo?
looking to jack the boost a few pounds, is there any company that makes an ecu to supply more fuel and take away a little more timing. the car is an 89 volvo 760 with the B23ET motor. thanks
hell no. Megasquirt fo the win. Only way you can cheaply get aroung the MAF kicking your *** is the old resistor trick. Look up turbobricks.com and search you should find some good ----. You rocking a sedan or wagon? I had a clean *** 740GL that USAA screwed me out of after a fender bender.
I'm not a huge expert on Volvo engine codes, but B23 is not the 2.8 V6 engine code that comes in a 760, is it?
The B230 4 cyl based stuff ran Motronic units that could be chipped. They were generally limited units - limited by the ----- stock MAF - but there are freeware softs out there if you want to DIY.

B series lol
Yeah, I have never been lucky enough to wrench on a V6. I heard they were POS's though, But I have always driven and worked on the 4cyl versions. I did see one in the yard, it didnt seem too much different that the 4's as far as the electronics and such were set up.
I liked that motor, that was a damn good 4 cyl. I wish Volvo still made them and kept the RWD. because they are POS's now. For example, Something as simple as a power steering line took like 2 hours to do on a 01 S80 T6, and the thing was at least 3 feet long lol. I nearly had to pull the rack down, but I managed to get my wrench up in there to back it off. At this point I cant remeber what all had to come down, that was like 1 year ago, but I know I had to remove part of the exhaust out of my way.
LOL did you know that the kickdown cable cost like 110 new? I got it for 90 though because I have a connect at the Volvo-Benz dealership but i still got raped
Done with the threadjack

thanks for the replys guys. are the b23 strong? i mean will they be able to handle a few extra lbs of boost? i dont know what im going to do about fuel yet. ill pull the wideband from my honda and go 1psi at a time i guess. these cars must use a crank angle sensor to adjust timing?
what is a good turbo to upgrade too? im thinking about a garrett gt17. what do you think?

for the win
He *may* be able to send you a plug-n-play megasquirt. Not sure of the price or if he still makes them or not.
