Fuel cut-out after IM switch
Alrite, this one has me stumped. Couple days ago I decided I was going to return my B16 (in my 89 Dx Hatch) back to stock.
I pulled off my Complete IM, consisting of AEBS IM,AEM Fuel rail & FPR,Marshall fuel gaue, 68mm TB.
And put on a completley stock B16A IM.
Now, the car starts up fine, idals fine, and under normal driving. Runs fine. Once you floor the gas, it falls flat on its face.
At idal, if you hit the gas hard it bogs down and almost shuts off.
I've gone thew double checked the injectors,make shure i didn't clip 2 in backwards, switched out the stock FPR, and doulbe checked all the wires to make shure there not bare in anyplaces or unpluged.Also checked plug gaps & timming. Everything if good.
Anyone have any sugestions to what I might be over looking.

same thing on a car that rolled thru work ahwile back. The guy had pushed his cone filter so far onto the intake tube, that it would only get enough air for idle and part throttle. Punch it and the end cap on the filter would suck tight against the tube and bog out until the rpm's came down. We all had a good laugh at that one.
First time I tested it it was without any intake tube. Later on I went back out side and tried it again, but had only removed the filter. Just waiting to get a chance to run out to my car to check the lines. Hope thats what it is.
well I went out and checked all the hoselines and plug-ins. Every thing is good. I played with the throttle and would hold it @ WOT and got a backfire a fwe times. Nevertheless it still falls on its face.

I still have no leads, or clue to why this is motor is running like crap. Gonna try ad switch out the fuel rails today after work. Maybe something will come to light, wile doing this.
my buddy had the same problem in his car, ended up being his injectors. Put a different set in, and runs like a champ now. If you got another set laying around, you might just try swapping them out and see if it makes a difference.
