Default AFC w/ vacuum advance?

I know people hate S/V-AFCs for tuning turbocharged vehicles, because they advance ignition timing. However, how would it work on a vaccuum advance distributor? I know that boost will cancel out any vaccuum advance, so will the AFC modify fuel tables without having ignition timing modified?

the timing advance its only the result of the computer being trick into readying different parameters not from the safc it self. so the answer is no, timing will remain the same

Cool. So the AFC isn't dependent on timing numbers? IE it doesn't need any input from the ECU or distributor?

Ok well tach yeah. Just so long as it won't ---- with my timing, this wouldn't be a bad road to go in the short run? IE around 10psi on stock internals?

If the car has a vacuum advance dizzy then the timing is controlled mechanically through vacuum not through the ECU. SO I guess the ECU only controls fuel on such a vehicle. The AFC shouldn't touch timing because your ECU doesn't control timing at all right?

Right! So would an AFC be alright to tune my car on up to 10psi until I can get my OBD1 swap underway?
