that video is misleading, he said we declared war on germany to help the british, in reality we declared war on japan on december 8th 1941 the day after pearl harbor, germany and italy declared war on the united states on december 11th 1941.

comparing world war 2 to the current war on terror is absurd, we declared war on japan and used traditional warefare methods to combat a known enemy who was aggressively invading neighboring countries and was made up of several countries with very large armies, also all major industries in the countries involved were refocused to help with the war effort (ie ford stopped making cars and started building airplanes, etc)

today we have attacked a 3rd world country that did nothing to us, they may have had WMD's in the past but only because we gave them to saddam, and we are worried about iran building a nuclear weapon and hurting isreal when isreal has hundreds of nuclear weapons and one of the best air forces in the world.
