Well I bought this pile of ---- about a month ago:








Holy ---- did it need work. LOTS of missing things here and there. So I got going on it. Heres a list of ---- I fixed/modded:

Did full brake job (nothing left of rear brakes)
Installed left-front motor mount and bracket (missing)
Installed new rear engine mount (broken)
Filled 3 motor mounts with urethane
Changed plug wires and plugs
installed clutch line braket (missing)
Removed rear seats
Removed carpet (smelled funny)
Installed oil pressure and boost/vacuum guages
Installed short shifter and ****
painted new steel rims with new tires
mounted small sidemount intercooler
Removed shitty exhaust system
changed oil and coolant
wired Vtec to the ECU
installed new dash bezel (piece around the guages)
Removed the remains of this gay alarm system that was tapped into a bunch of wires on the car's harness. I taped and shrink wrapped open wires back up.
Cleaned the 20 lbs of dirt out of the car.

I'm sure there's a lot more than what I have listed but I'm tired of thing of the ---- I've done.

Well Here it is now. It need body work bad but I'm probably saving that for last because theres tons of other ---- it needs aside from that:












Oh yeah Heres most of the stuff that's going into the first turbo kit. The FMU probably won't even get used. I have a chipped ecu a resistor box and a moates chip burner. next on the list is a 14point7 wideband setup and I'll be golden to tune this noglet. I still need some 450's AHHHEMMM. (you know who you are). I have a set of Ford 35lbs/hr injectors which are about 370cc. Not too sure if they'll fit great but I could try them.

Well the next part of the project will be installing an EX transmission. The one in it is a Stock CX transmission. Along with that I'll probably do the ball joints and the clutch needs to be done badly. If anyone has a D series EX hydraulic transmission or knows where I can get one let me know. Located in southern VT.

Awesome project! How much did you pick the car up for. I wish I could find a deal like that. Sweet idea for the manifold hope it works out for you. If those pipe fittings are galvanized you can soak them in muratic acid (cheap at the pool store) to get it off. Welding galvanized can kill you. I might be able to get my hands on some 450's for you. Let me know...

I paid $700 bucks for the car. I'll admit I paid too much for the car for the shape it was in lol. But when I bought it, most of the ---- wrong with it was all ---- I could fix for super cheap considering I had a U-pull-it junkyard minuets from my college. hell I bought the steelies with practically new tires on them for a total of $60 bucks.

Here's my budget on the car so far:

95 hatch w/ z6 engine - $700

window weld for mounts - $14
rear engine mount - $20 (thanks josh_b)
Shifter + flywheel cover - $25 (thanks imburne)
Wheels Tires - $60
Bezel with clock and vents - $13
Mount+Bracket drivers side - $8
Oil Pan - $21
clutch bracket - $2
Rear Drums and Shoes - $59
Front pads and Turned rotors - $29


So far theres a total of $951 and all that it needs now is a clutch and maybe a few other things

Up here in VT it's damn hard to find older civics without any rust for cheap. I also figured since most of the stuff on the car was shot (exhuast, brakes, clutch, bushings, ect) I'd be replacing it with something better anyway so what does it matter if it's in good shape to begin with or not?

My DD is a 98 civic EX, the silver one in the pics. It's a Cadillac compared to this pile which is riding on some ebay sleeves/springs lol.


And the pipe fittings are black iron, so no galvanize to worry about.

 

even with all this ---- wrong $700 doesnt seem like too bad of a deal. I would have taken it.

So you need to sell the FMU and buy some DSM 450's and you are set.

Well I made a small gauge pod for where the CD player goes in the dash. Made it out of plexi glass and some 2" PVC, and JB weld FTW. Bored the 2" PVC with a small sanding drum on a dremel tool. The gauges fit nice and tight.




finished it off with a shot of flat black texture finish.
