Drop in a d16y8 motor and tranny,much better than a z6.

except then I gotta worry about OBD2 - OBD1 and the oil pumps suck ***** on y8's. I'd rather have a z6. The tranny I could use though...

That actually sounds decent. And you'll be going through the trans too, where as they'll just box it up and give it too me regardless of condition. How much would one with an OBX LSD installed be?

OBX tranny built runs $900-1000 shipped.

I'm trying to buy up all the useable Z6 tranny locally.

Guy wanted $175 for a tranny that had gear oil ran thru is, ISB was toast. He got mad when I offered $50, then went up to $75.......guess he doesn't understand the time factor ot takes to clean out all the crappy gear oil and inspect all 12 bearings.

I cannot see a Z6 being worth more than $250, Y8 $300 before shipping, both stock and gone thru.

OBX is $350, parts = $130, labor $125-150, case hot washed = $30, shipping $50-75.......

Right now I have no spare cores to build on......the one I do have two people are wanting it.......
