One of my friends was getting about 42mpg out his new chevy turbo diesel silverado, and could still haul a trailer behind it.
Even the most I got my b16 to do was 37mpg, then I put a cherry bomb mid section in the exhaust to quiet down the straight pipe and I dropped down to mid 20's :P

me and a friend pulled a trailer with a for v8 powerstroke for abuot 100 miles and burned less than a 1/8th of a tank. the needle barely moved. they get way better gas mileage but the oil changes and other mantanence are expensive. it almost out weighs the fuel savings
