Was just wondering this while installing my temp gauge...if I could tap off the stock gauge sensor up at the cluster that would make my life 100 times easier. Anyone know off the top of their head?

 

Ehh, tried it today...no dice. :P Looks like I'm replacing the stock piece with the aftermarket one.

 

not very hard.........I did it years ago.

 

It all depends on your gauge, each one is different. Read the literature that came with it, and figure out what resistance the sender has at a few temperatures. Do the same with your Honda sender, then you'll know. Not like you didn't know that its not going to work now.

 

It's one of Donald's cdm gauges that comes with the sender. I pulled the cluster out last night and was playing with it this morning. When the car comes up to temp, the gauge starts moving backwards lol. Not a big deal to add the sender in, just a pita with coolant dripping all over my nice clean engine. After that I need to pop in a dimmer bulb...that thing's blinding at night

 

If you know someone who can weld aluminum for the hook up, weld a bung the water neck.
