Most cars that are boosted stock have all of the means for boost already built in, and programmed maps into the ECU, sothere's no need for a FMU, since all that stuff is already there!
For example, the standard turbo DSM's have the 450cc injectors that we all want for our setups, why would that car need an FMU when it's setup with the big injectors from the factory.
That's the way that most, if not all factory setups are.

OK, let me understand the fuel setup on a more basic level..
DSM 450s + Aftermarket Fuel Pump == Acceptable setup?
FMU + stock fuel pump and injectors == Acceptable Setup?
*-AFC hack?.. I don't know how this one fits in..
Can someone see where I'm going with this? If so, can you throw together a quick table or something for the "basics"?

Maybe this might clear things up a bit. Ill go from what I feel is ideal to okay. If anyone wants to add in please do! 
Standalone Fuel Management + 550cc and up = Excellent
Pro: Best ability to fine tune. Very reliable if tuned right. Great power gains.
Cons: EXPENSIVE!. The units can be expensive as well as time on the dyno, usually more complicated to install.
Notes: For obd-1 ecus I like Hondata, its what I been using. The AEM EMS is pretty promising as well. For OBD-0 I like the zdyne, freinds have goood results with these systems. Dont have much personal experience with other units.

Pro : Cheap, works pretty well, ability to tune.
Con : does not control ignition timing relative to boost.
A MSD BTM could be used, but retarding the timing
be best.
Notes: You do not need aftermarket pump really with this set up because fuel pressure doesnt really exceed stock rates. Also remember, some type of resistor pack is needed if DSM injectors are used.

Pro : Easy to setup and maintain, could be pretty reliable if you never touch your setup (which I doubt)
Con : Extremely high fuel pressures, Shitty gas mileage, tends to run on the rich side constantly, disc gets stuck (mine did)
Note: In my personal experience I really hate this setup. I had it back in the day and I wasnt to fond of it all. Please the idea of 85psi + fuel pressure wasnt to reassuring. There are some variations to this setup.
It is possible to use 310cc injectors, a different ratio FMU say 8:1, no inline, and the missing link or change around the injector size and fmu ratio and use a inline....vice versa etc etc.
