god damn crank pulley bolt
I'm trying to get the crank pulley off of my d16z6. That son of a bitch wont com off, I'm breaking all kinds of tools and the impact doesnt phase it, is it reverse threaded or normal right hand threaded
?? it doesnt say either way in the book.

its normal threaded....if you search, there are many ways to do this. A good 1/2 inch impact(IR titanium is what i use), a 1/2 inch breaker bar with the 6 sided tool to hold the pulley, or some people have luck holding the crank still by putting a bar/screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel and using a breaking bar on the bolt....choose your poison.
I would be very weary of using a torch on your pulley, since they have rubber in them....

The hell with that...the six sided tool with 1/2" breaker bar attached. Bought mine a few years ago from snap-on and has been the best investment into my tool collection since. Breaks 'em free every time with very little effort.
Yeah, its on an engine stand with no head or flywheel, its pretty much bare except for the oil pan and internals. This thing is pissing me off, I've busted a bunch of 1/2 dr. crafstman extensions and even a few SK extensions, I have a 1/2 in impact and its not getting it. I've taken them off of other honda's with no prob. but this little bastard. I'll try some heat.
edit: I"ve got the 1/2" breaker bar with a 4 ft. pipe on it, it just ***** up my tools, crafstman lifetime waranty rocks.

block of wood jammed in the flywheel works pretty too. If it gets stuck just burn it out
and i usually just put a jack level with the pulley, long *** extension, and rest a ratchet on the jack and attach a huge *** prybar to the rachet

holy ---- dude i am having the exact same problem. ---- those. I had one fall off so i torqued the ---- outta it. i cant find a way to lock up the crank without the flywheel.
how much do those tools run? are they just for a honda?
