This is messed up. I don't really have an explanation.. but this is what happened.

A while back I posted a question as to bouncing oil press guage needle. My ractive oil press guage was bouncing all over the place and there were no leaks to cause it. I put this off as a bad electrical connection.

Well.. yesterday, I got my oil changed.. now the damn guage is PERFECT! ROCK STEADY. I can't explain why..

Just thought I would share my findings with HMT

my Oil pressure gauge does the SAME thing...it goes jumps from about 60 psi to 80,85,100 psi.it just bounces all over the place.Since my car runs perfectly normal, there is no freaking way my oil pressure could jump to 100 psi..or even 80 psi.. so i know the connection is bad. this thing will even be at 80-100 psi when the car isnt cranked up yet

 

have you checked the grounding?? A good number of times you get bad readings on car eletronics because of improper grounding, or improper wire gauge (thickness).
