Ok, so its not his actual car. Its at my local salvage yard. But my question is, do you guys think this engine is worth pulling? Its a complete GSR motor with trans. Valve cover was sitting off, and i'm not sure how long its been there. Car is nice and toasted, looks like the fire was electrical, dash is well melted, but so are parts of the rear interior so it definately burned for a good while. Any chance the motor/trans is still worth something? Maybe for a rebuild? Could get both for about 250.

 

even if the cyl head is fucked form water getting in it i thighly doubt the trans is fucked, and the trans alone os worth $500 or more

 

If you plan on taking it all apart and building everything, I would see absoutly nothing wrong with it. Have it all cleaned, everything checked, not bad at all. $250- id buy it.

there was a burnt gsr swap here that was sold super cheap and I passed it up. supposedly it runs like a ------- champ. It would have needed all new sensors, wiring ect, looked much like this one you posted.

 

Go for it man. I'm sure you know where it is . Theres a surprisingly low amount of people close to this one aside from you and I that actually come on HMT on a regular basis.
I'll probably get it sometime before the weekend if I can get my fundage up. I'd at least want the trans, that part at least probably didnt see much damage from the heat.

def worth it, id see if the ecu is still there and in good condition, if so thats worth a decent chunk aswell
