not what you expected? just picked it up today. i really dident expect much from it, but its weak sauce. its a hino/toyota 4 cylender deasiel. i really dident get a chance to look over the turbo/intercooler ect. i mainly got it to do some junkyard runs, move my cars around and make a lil side money, i will not be towing full time. i got the truck off ebay for 4 grand, i though it was a pretty good deal for a complete running truck. just gotta see what i can do to get a lil more power

on a side note, i am not feeling to well. i got stressed as hell tring to fininsh getting the money together in time to pick it up, but the fact i frove it back from CT with no towing/commercial plates towing my grandfathers buick dosent help. today was quota day and they were out there in full force

 

do the hydraulics work?

 

You should see the thing towing in three wheel motion and then it pancakes at the stoplights.

 

well i was referring to the hydraulic actuator that controls the boom and the winch.

everything works. the truck hasent been used in a while so all the controls are sticky as hell. i got alot of greasing to do.

You can crank on the boost **** and you won't hurt it; diesels only die when you give them too much fuel.

Dude there are people that still import those 2, 2.4, 2.5 & 3.0L 4 cylinder (x)KZ-TE, and (x)KD-FTV toyota diesel's into the US.

Really, I'd like to have that new Isuzu/Toyota(Hino) 1VD-FTV 4.5L v8 turbo diesel. 700lbs ready to roll. Crazy light weight for a diesel.

i am not sure if this engine is just tired (209k miles) or its just that way cuz its a 4 cylednder, but the truck seems weak as hell. i towed a park ave back from ct and it really dident have too much go. i can def feel the turbo kick in when i floored it. i am going to bring it to someone who knows these hino and see what they think.

anyone know about swap possabilities. id love to get a chevy/isuzu druamax 6.2 turbo deasil in there.
