windows xp is ok, windows vista is bullshit. enjoy your new found DRM and continued progression towards loss of your compuers ability to compute, and rights for you to operate your computer without big corporations walking you through what you can/cant do with YOUR machine.

Linux used to be somewhat of a bitch if you wanted to run x86_64, now its ok. I've gotten everything to work including ut2004, most media file formats, forced flash 9/firefox 2 to run under 32bit. Adobe photoshop cs2 to run under WINE, If I felt the need I can always run vmware and run Mac os X or windows xp/vista.
It's deffinatly not for everyone, though. If you don't have a friend to set up your machine and guide you through installing things for the first time, it's going to take some research/common sense to figure things out.

I ran a Dyne:bolix boot-from-CD deal on an old 233 Mhz Armada, it worked pretty well and was a lot faster than the Win98 that had been on there.

Fedora core, humm, any reasons why using it? Looks like you're running beryl, how do you like it ?( cause I might give it a try soon)
