is it normal for a built motor to sound almost like a diesel truck or is my ---- f'ed up?

 

Were the pistons clearanced? What cam is in it?

 

Vitaras on a stock bore?

runs good feels very slow n/a right now. 170-185 compression

 

at warmup you should get some noisy piston sounds, almost a clunky sound. im thinking that sounds mildly diesel-like

My srp's and eagle's sound pretty thumpy til they get warmed up. Open downpipe drowns out the motor noise though I think

 

ya i got a pretty good price on it, figure i dont stand to loose to much worst case. im selling the supercharger off it right now should help recoupe some money, trying to decide if i want to fix up my ls motor or swap this one in and sell the car off for a few hundred(salvage title) i need to find out how healthy it is, the jackass was driving it in the winter with thick *** dirty 20w50 in it so that doesnt help. and i found a head and grind free tranny for my ls motor cheap so im starting to change my mind.

but ya it pretty much makes this noise at all times even warm, its not as bad warm though, and compression was good enough so im thinkin either its normal or its knocking, but it has eagle rods and hasent reallyseen much boost so i dont know how they could be fucked unless its not the rods i guess maybe the crank or somthing, im no expert
