heat only gets kinda warm

Default heat only gets kinda warm

i have a 96 civic with a ls motor, the temp gauges goes up to about half like normal, but my heat only gets kinda warm. any ideas ? its like -10 outside ---- sucks.

Did you check your t-stat? That's the first thing I would check.

car warms up like normal, whenever i had a bad tstat it never got warm enough, or never stayer warm in the winter, so i figured it wasent that, ill probly replace it anyways

1/2 to 3/4 blocked off radiator.

Factory temp gauge reads "normal" when water temp is 145-200......below 170 = shitty gas mileage......

oh yeah, make sure whatever you use that it is secure. Nothing like smelling melting plastic for 2 weeks from where it blew onto the header.

I'm thinking he's saying to take a piece of cardboard and block off half the radiator and see if it helps lol.

Take both hoses off the heater core, hook up a piece of hose onto the core, flush both ways with a gargen hose. IF the car is coming up to operating temp this fixes 90% of problems for me on customers autos.
