Default Changing trim / compressor wheels on t3/t04

The the compressor wheels and housings usually a matched pair?
IE - the t3/t04 has many different trims:

As the inducer exducer size changes, I assume you have to match this to a housing, correct? IE to change compressor trim, you need to replace the compressor wheel, balance the turbine assembly, and replace the compressor housing.

Right. In most cases you will need to change the compressor housing when changing trim and what determines trim --> wheel diameters. How does a 57 trim with a larger inducer fit inside a housing that has a snug 40 trim wheel in it. It doesn't. The ONLY case you can do this without a comp. swap is the same size inducer and different size exducer which (don't take this for gospel, now) MAY fit, but that's sketchy.

It's perfectly okay. I thought you were a smart-alack n00b. I apologize. No go learn that the T3/T04E 57 trim > T3 60 trim.

That makes total sense.. The garrett series seems to be very swap friendly. I just need to find a good deal on the compressor side..... No implications other than rebalance for swapping the compressor turbine on the same shaft?
Anyone want to swap for a H-compressor T04b? Larger than t04e>t62>t60

Riiiiiiiiight, just a balance should be sufficent, but I'm going to be into a rebuild too because my turbo is 19 years old. I'm interested in your compressor housing, wheel, backplate if you're up for sale of it. Are you looking for something smaller then or what because I have something you may like and could trade. PM me.
