Default shitty, buddy's car wont start 94 integra

my friends 94 integra 5spd has fuel/spark but will just not start, i checked these myself. the story is, he came up to a light and the car just died. when the key is at the on position the cel turns off after a couple seconds.

im trying to narrow things down to what it could possibly be. we're working with new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter.

anyone have any insight as to where we should start next?

the integra is completely stock.

How are you checking spark? The way you describe "came up to the light and it died" almost sounds like the notorious ignitor issue, but you say you have spark so...

So how bout this, you need 4 things to run a motor, correct ammount of fuel at the right time, correct ammount of air at the right time, good spark at the right time, and good compression.

So you say you have fuel and spark, lets assume you have compression (and air duh), so i guess that leaves the element of time. Check that timing belt and give us more info

Youm sir are going through the same thing I'm going through, but I got mine to run today. Check you cam timing, if the belt is worn it's possible that it's jumped a tooth or more. It's taken me 2 weeks of posting here on this site and info fom several people same to the conclusion that that was the only thing left since I had many variables from a heavily moddified head and block. But I'm assuming it's stock internally, so check your timing belt for wear and make sure everything is set TDC and slide a new belt on. I prefer the TRUST's belts over the O.E. thats GREDDY if you didnt know. I had fuel but it was standing in my intake, too bad it's not a two part plenium. Thats how I fouund out my issue.

i agree with cardinal, but just to be on the safe side, try checking all the harness connections that could easily cause the problem youre describing. start with the three to your ecu and trace it through checking the main junctions as well as engine compartment fuses and main relay. i had a friend who swapped an engine over a loose ecu connection. just my .02

Did you mean it starts and dies shortly after?

If so, I've seen a few integra's have problems with the main relay's. Mine was one of them, its under the dash, and about half the size of ur fist. Just unplug it and plug it back in and see if it stay's running. Listen for the fuel pump to prime.

If not you may have slipped a coupple teeth on one of the cam gears, check that timing.
