There was a mythbusters where they did that. Very hard to have the valve sheered off, but it will go through a sinder block wall easily.

a guy at the cat shop showed me some pictures where a guy was pulling a dozer into the bay and swung around and the bucket hit some tanks and knocked 3 of them over and idk if any of you have been in a cat shop but they all have 8 ft cinderblock walls between each bay and it went through 20 bays befor it finaly stoped in the front office under a desk lodged into the safe. he had screen shots from the security tapes...ill see if i can find it and ill post up the pics

Mythbusters set up a perfect situation for the bottle, and couldn't get it to go through 2 walls. I kinda doubt that the one you're talking about went through 20 walls.

i would imagine the diameter of the hole in the top would have a bearing and so would the tanks weight and pressure. but your right that is a biiig difference from the two. i broke a cinder block my dropping it from 6 inches so i dont think that is a really good meathod of measurement imo

i didnt see it, i didnt see the walls, i wasnt even in the state it happened in. i was just showed pictures from a security camera and a pic of the cylinder in the safe. supposedly it was one of the big *** stainless 4 valve oxygen tanks. the ones that only go to either the medical field or somewhere very industrial. now that you say that it kinda has me thinking...i do all of the service and repair on machine and welding co. trucks. ill go ask those guys what they think of it next time im over there. ill still look for the pics though

Google owns. There is a clip on this page - http://shopping.discovery.com/product-64236.html

It on the lower left side of the page, titled "Watch A Video Clip". It has several good shots of the air tank flying through the wall.
