so i bought some hx rims and tires for 200 locally, to put on my 00 ex, but when i put them on, there is no clearance between the rim and the callipers... has anyone else had this problem?

i dont see why it wouldnt work... dont the hx's and the ex's have the same brake setup?

nope its different by a tiny bit. bust out the grinder

 

alright, coo, i looks like i would only need to shave off about 1/8 of an inch anyways.

A little work with the grinder and they fit.

 

get some spacers or toss a washer or two to push them out a little bit if you don't want to grind the caliper.

 

don't use washers

 

all you should need is a 5mm or 1/4" spacer and youll be fine...

 

the hx rims are 14'' correct? :1

doesn't an EX have 15's stock? :1

i dunno, im too poor to own anything over 2000 bucks

 

ex's are 14's, hx's are 13's i believe
