Those are the same thing, are they not? The newer version of the 700r4/4l60 is the 4L60E.

B4 that was the turbo 350/400 trans'

 

the 4l80e is by far a better choice if you looking to put down some power. but im old school and running a th350 auto trans. next spring comes the t5 manual tranny, and later on a t56 from a vette. and for motors just get a 350 4-bolt main and call it a day. i just picked mine up today for 200 bucks with vortec heads minus the intake. doesnt matter though. just go old school if you want power. the newer motors are worthless.

 

Im looking for another wagon rigt now, but the plan is for some V8 action. I would rather have a GM motor, just out of familiarity and distrust of fords. Whiah series Chevy motor you think I'm better off with?? I have litle experience with teh 0ld $cho0l lol.
