90 civic dx - check engine light on???

Default 90 civic dx - check engine light on???

ok so i picked up a hunk of junk today but its a fun cheap car... anyways

when i drive it cruisin at like 50mph the check engine lights comes on... but after turning off the car and back on its gone... also i havent fucked with obd0 so how do i check the code?? and can i check it if the lights gone the next time i turn the key

Check code = pull up passenger kickpanel carpet and count the blinks on the ECU, make sure the key is on.

yes you can check it next time...it holds the code until you reset the ecu...
take out the ecu fuse to reset the computer

gotcha... wut kind of code u think it could be?? ill look at it tonite im at work but on my obd1 coupe my faulty o2 sensor did that kinda thing.. i hope its not too fucked up! thanks guys...

sounds like something intermittent. When you shut the car off and turn it back on, the code should re-appear if the fault is still present. You're saying it goes away when you shut the car off right? On my OBD1 civic i had a CEL once, and i shut it off and the code went away. It did it one other day, i checked it and it was for the TPS. Apparently the wires or connector was loose, so i wiggled them around and they were fine. But the point i'm trying to make is you may have some sort of intermitent problem if the code goes away when you shut off the car.
