LC-1 Wideband : Permanent install question?
So Im reading through the LC-1 manual, and it gives some pretty strict requirements per proper heating/ keeping sensor from condensation, etc. etc. Seems like the sensor is pretty delicate, and if so is it really a good idea to permenantly mount it into the exhaust?
Or should I just screw the sensor in while I tune, and remove it?
How many of you have it permenently mounted? and if you do, are you running it through your ecu instead of your narrow band?

Ideally just use it for tuning and then remove it, it's not necessary after that.
But plenty of people keep it mounted permanently, gives peace of mind to see what your AFR is at any time. The lifetime will be decreased if you have it installed permanently, but not by a ---- ton.
If you want to mount it permanently, go right ahead, no harm done.

Had mine permanently installed, and it worked fine. It is really convenient to have it permanently installed when you like to chnge your setup often of decide you want to tweak something to see how it reacts. I bought a second wideband for tuning other cars.

I knew they were stock Bosch sensors but in knowing how much new stock VWs blow through their service contracts, it didnt give me much confidence. I have two other buddies' cars that I am going to use it on, but not for a while, and I didnt want to fiddle with it too much after installing it
