sohc build (vitaras)

Well my question is, since alot of people have been making 400+ hp with vitaras, how come alot of people dont use them? is there any down side to having vitara pistons in the build?

The only downside that i can see is they're not forged. They're cast, which are the same as your factory piston's, expect from what ive heard they are made in a different way?

Anyone else care to chime in?

I see they also make them forged, is this correct? I've always been told to get the cast ones NOT forged, whats the reason?

Forging and casting are just methods to creating the pistons. What might matter more is the type of material it's made from. What temps can the material withstand before melting stuff like that.
