Ok so im sleeveing my Y8 and building it to run 40psi on 116oct on the weekends and ocasional late nite ;-D..just curious on how strong the d-is i had a 400hp B-series and it was all good but i want lighter weight and to bring back teh underdog against all these gay *** K cars :-D lmk thanks guys

No but really 450 doesnt seem to be problem, You should have no worries about the girdle at 400

IIRC tahts what the uberdata forums would default n00bs ava name to.

IMO as long as you use fresh bolts on the girdle - a custom ARP set would be a good idea - its really the oil pump taht will screw you. Thats assuming 40psi means a big turbo, meaning lots of headwork, meaning high-rpm. Enlaging the main gallery and modding the oil pump passage would help out a bit.

Definately get dynos of it first before 'track testing' the girdle, jsut in case. 40psi on a sleeved sohc should provide nice numbers, some of the highest non-spray numbers seen so far.

Im a llama because ive never changed it nor requested it be changed its been a long time since ive been on here,I plan on quite a bit of things that i havent seen or heard of yet so it will be a good learning experience and if it fails ive got alot of good spare parts to get rid of or put on a new setup..lol as for the oil pump im gonna see about mating a SMALL gear to a ported out oil pump with higher PSI spring..it should work out..a plus to having my best friend working at a machine shop..lol

 

400 hp here with no problem .
