Default Balancing and lightening the crank shaft???

ok im building a D over winter and im thinking about having my crank shaft lightened and balanced but i have a few questions....lightening the crank will make higher rpms more achieveable but will it weaken the actual crank itself im shooting for 400hp will it be able to with stand the pressure along with revving out to about 8500? and what should the minimum weight be ?...also how much does something like this run at the machine shop?

if you have to ask, you can't afford it

Figure 500 or more for the crank work

Get a good balance and polish. That only costs like $50-$100.

Yay CO! I paid $100 for balancing of all my bottom end parts(crank, flywheel, pulley, pistons, rods, clutch, pressure plate) all balanced to themselves, then eachother. Then I paid $50 for a poslish/magging(check for cracks),check for straightness.
