ok, im an electrician and the company i work for recycles all its scrap copper from every job we do. bare copper is about a 2.10 a pound. and dirty copper is about 1.00 a pound. i suck at searching and searched for about an hours or so. since bare copper worth a bunch more, i was looking for either a: a easy way to make some kind of machine/device to strip 14awg to 6 gauge wire. or b: a machine to automaqtically strips lenghts of insulation off copper that doesnt cost too much.

can anybody help a nig nog out? best thing in seen has been some ghetto v blade you hook to a sodering iron to heat the insulation off the copper.

If you dont live in the city you can burn it.

 

clean copper is worth money. they wont take burnt *** black ---- that somwhat resembles copper in the slightest way. if you burn it...its not clean.

 

A buddy of mine is an electrician and he just puts a razor blade in some vice grips and goes to town. They pay 2.50 around here for clean copper. Hell it's a fee pack of beer/cigs/sack whatever floats your boat. We still havent found a better way of doing it. Besides burnin and then sticking it in some sort of cleaner, and we've been doing this for months now heh.

 

copper is good money.here in texas(san antonio) ,ghetto bitches are going around stealing telephone cable for the copper.there ------- cutting the cable on the utility poles and melting that ---- down some how.it had died down for a few years but now it's happening everyday.good buisness to get into

 

i love that. i do some remodles on the side and the last one i did got like $25 from the old hard pipeing. i might have acidently put a led pipe or two in. lol

 

they do that here too. we have the big windfarms up on the hill(huge windmills that create electricity), and when they were being built people were running up there and stripping the ---- out of them...

good money considering 1 blade is longer than your standard semi-truck/trailer, and they stand probably 300ft tall. lots of wire in them bitches...

 

i would use a vise and a utility blade and just hold each end of the wire and wear gloves dumbass. should work but short ones mite be tricky with gloves on lol

 

Friend of mine is an electrician. He has his kids do it as a nightly chore.
