Default f22 distributor on d-series?

Does any one know if a f22 td-59u distributor will wsork on a d-series? It bolts up but uses an external coil. I have it apart and it looks like you can mount a regular coil in it but I was wondering if everything else will work.

If it bolts up, Rotor points in at the right cylinder, and wiring/sensor are the same, It should.

Also just run an external coil.

It bolts on fine and points the right way. I would have run an external coil if it had been on the car but it was gone already. I put a internal coil in it so it will hopefully work. Ill find out if I eaver get the stupid balljoint out so I can finish swaping motors.

Just buy a MSD Blaster SS. But if oyu got a coil in it already, and the coil is wired right, and the cap has the point for the coil, good day to you!
