Default overheating problem

i'm having a serious overheating problem in my 93 civic lx....
its kinda weird because, it doesnt have a thermostat, new water pump, and i have check for coolant leaks and cant find anything. everything started one day my car started overheating and the temp went all the way to the top red line, but suddenly i started to rev the car and it dropped very fast to the halfway, so i pop the hood and opened the purge above the upper hose from the radiator to the head and it started to bleed lots of vapor... then i filled the radiator with more coolant, and the car ran well for 2 days, but i started having the same problem at idle the temp goes high but i start running and when i rev the car it start falling down, and i have check the fan and it is working strong but the air that it suck from the radiator is cool, and the upper hose is very hot while the lower hose is just warm...
someone can tell me whats happening, i have check for this and theres alot other people having this problem on civics...

yes thats first thing ill do on monday, to have the radiator cleaned. i dont think its the head gasket because i just did a mini me swap and had a new gasket... but i dont understand why if i fill the radiator today i can have two days of normal driving but then suddenly the temp starts going up and down i have to purge vapor from system and refill it...

you need to bleed the system.
and make sure your fan is functional.

no coolant just water... fan is working great, and i bleed the system everytime i refill it.. i though water have better cooling properties than coolant...

true and valse... i wouldnt ever recommend running straight water and no thermostat, spend the 10$ and get a gallon of coolant and thermastat.

wouldnt running str8 water have a lower boiling point? when water boils it bublles, possibly making those air bubbles?? idk sounds logical! some1 else correct me!
