d16y8 / d16z6 using vitaras + gsr rods instead of vitaras + ls rods?
I was just thinking, these rods are SLIGHTLY longer so they could bring the piston closer to the deck, as well as give it a SLIGHTLY better r/s ratio
anyone done this?

the gs-R rods are weaker than the LS rods so that alone is enough to say forget it, gs-r motors are known to snap rods with boost, isn't that enough said?

GSR rods are much stronger than LS rods. GSR rods have much more material around the journal.
Also GSR rods are too thin on the big end. They are about 35 thou thinner. Also the GSR rod is only 1mm longer, which still places the piston below the deck.
