Default b7, z1 pistons?

before you read this... well I already know a d15b7 cant handle much power and isnt really worth the effort but im boosting it.

yeah well long story short the z6 swap i bought is junk, and now im stuck with another d15b7 under my hood, still kicking myself for not checking the compression before i swapped in the z6.

i plan on boosting the b7. i know they cant handle that much horsepower but i want to make somewhere around 150-170 hp. i have a .42 .48 t3 STD with adapater plate, dsm 450s, 2.5 charge pipes, FMIC, 2.5 dp, dsm bov...

the engine runs alright but soon i plan to throw some rings/bearings in 'er and run 7-8psi.

has anyone ever tried using d15z1 pistons in their b7 to lower the compression to make it more boost friendly or is that just an idiotic idea? also can i use a 3 layer y8 headgasket? would like some arp studs while im in there but i cant find them anywhere...

also thought about vitaras but probably not unless i can find some rods... any input there as well?

Vitaras or Z1 slugs on Z1 rods, gonna end up about the same compression ratio.

I'm in the same boat, for now i'm stuck with the b7, I wouldnt mind dropping a coupple hundred bucks if I could find a set of pistons/rods. I've seen a b7 built along time ago, just havent seen anything on it since.
