So this weekend was my girlfriends birthday that was at her fathers vineyard. They celebrate a harvest fest each year at this time, with dancing, grape stomping etc. So I snapped a few pics.



They wanted to roast a pig luau style so the night before we had a large fire to get the pit ready. Flames well over 10 feet.



12 hours later my gf's dad cutting it up.. It actually was pretty good.

This was the grape fight, basically whoever stays the cleanest wins. lol that pic looks like I'm grabbing that guys ***..

Now I'm eating ----, that guy must not have liked me shoving my finger in his *** haha.

I have never been so sticky in my life! it was alot of fun. Before the grape fight we had a stomping contest and I won! it was pretty cool.



So before we went to the vineyard I made a special gift for my girlfriend. I wanted to give her something nobody ever has. She really likes the Hibiscus flower/plant.. So I thought I could make one myself.

Heres some pedals being ready to be cut out. (this is my first time ever with thin sheet metal)



Gotta keep it hmt style.. using a 3in SS chunk of pipe I had laying around for a vase. Polished it up nice on the inside.



This was the first flower I made, it was a huge pain in the ***. The metal was soooooo thin, and I wasnt sure how to weld it. I had my welder on the lowest setting possible but it was still burning through.



got some SS rod and bent it up to make it look like real vines.. I actually went out and bought a real hibiscus to mock this after. (gotta love the ---- in the background haha)



all 3 flowers together.. after a few hours trying to use the tig, I said ---- it and busted out the mig. Especially on the leaves.



All done! took around 20 hours to do, everything was cut out by hand. I was pretty pleased and so was she! =)

I was going to paint it, but I think the metal look is pretty sweet.


btw, donavan I'll get on your project now!
