Default CPS delete on DOHC ZC

I was hanging around G1teg.org and there was a discussion about replacing the ZC's dizzy with one from an A6 ( that has a CPS all ready), and not having to use the ZC cam sensor... I always assumed this would work but never heard anyone else try it.
I dont see why it wouldnt work if you your dizzy works fine. It gives the same signal to the same wires, blue/yellow, blue/green... It should work. i might try it ifI dont sell my A6 dizzy Fri.

well with the a6 dizzy being for a single cam i cant see it working because of the fact is how will it know what the exhaust cam is doing on a dual cam motor.

it wouldn't care if it was on a chevy if it was phased right.

Now will it be able to be in phase AND the ignition timing correct?

I dont see why it wouldn't work. You can run a zc off a pm6 ecu so it must be the same signal. All that sensor does is let the ecu know when cyl. 1 is on tdc right?

No, The ZC dizzy LOOKS to be the same as a pm6 dizzy minus CPS. Both versions of the CPS output the same signal, regardless of what cam its run off. The PM6 ECU should read it as a standard signal, since it works on SOHC as well as DOHC. i think that sensor just goes off cam speed and position (note the off center lobe when installing a dizzy or ZC CPS). Besides, the A6 dizzy has more adj. timing positions than the ZC's, so ign. timing problems most likely be solved by adj. the dizzy

but you will have to leave the cps on the exhaust cam just without it connected right?
