all i know is that i played Condemmed criminal orgins on xbox 360 on my uncles big screen tv.. and sorround sound.. and it wasnt as scary as doom 1

i just dled the game and got up to lvl 3 and said ---- that.. i prolly jumped a good 13 times or so.. last time i played this game i was in elementry school i had nightmares about this game.. and scary movies dont even scare me but this game freaks me out.. even more than the latest version of doom :P

 

Doom is THE first person shooter. I still play it because even with the 12+ year old graphics its that good. What engine you use for playing it?

Zdoom is a good simple one to play it on all you need is the wad files

I prefer Jdoom because it has better graphic options and you can run in open gl mode and have all kinds of graphic upgrades like filtering and such. it makes doom look pretty nice actually.

both of those allow mouse view, and jumping like in CS which is absoloutly badass.

Jdoom comes with optional 3d models to replace the classic sprites, but it's not doom without the sprites.

Anybody else remember Wolfenstein 3D. I think i was into that before I had encounter'd doom, used to scare me pretty good, could only watch my bro play. And u got to kill Hitler, just like real life, in his robot suit.

i had wolfenstein as a kid but the disk was corrupt so it wudnt load after a certain level.. maybe i should go dl it

 

I remember when wolfenstein came out, it was the biggest deal, it was supposed to revolutionize gaming, blah blah. I remember some of the levels were stupidly big mazes

 

Yep after a while it just got frustrating and annoying, you could try all but one door, and be stuck n a level forever. Which came out first, doom or Wolfenstein? I remember wolfenstein had the face at the bottom that would change with your condition and i know doom has it, dont know who copied who though.


Its funny cus i used to think those graphics were the ----.
